This week, restaurateurs began to prepare for eventually reopening with new cleaning supplies, insurance lawsuits to reclaim lost money and a look at China's restaurants in a post-coronavirus world.

Georgia announced reopening restaurants on Monday, South Carolina and Tennessee also announced opening dates for restaurants while Texas announced that on May 1, restaurants will be able to reopen at 25% capacity.

As these states begin to ease restrictions, Restaurant Hospitality is here to provide the industry with what it needs to know to reopen.

Recently, a food safety and public health expert from Ecolab spoke with a Restaurant Hospitality editor about the health and sanitation tools restaurants should be aware of before reopening. This included how to handle gloves, masks, social distancing measures and instilling consumer confidence in a post-pandemic world.

We also covered how China restaurants have been reopening as restrictions have lifted. Consumers at those restaurants have been receiving temperature checks upon entry, are forced to wear masks and must sign waivers at some restaurants before eating.
