As each of us continues to face challenges from a changing landscape, we need all the intel, insights and ideas to not only build business but also to rise and thrive into new areas of success and innovation. Throughout the unprecedented disruption of 2020, the foodservice industry has turned to Nation’s Restaurant News and Restaurant Hospitality like never before. As we look to 2021, we are excited to share even more opportunities for our industries to connect, learn and lead together.

We have seen record digital engagement and realized double-digit growth this year across all our digital brands, cementing their status as the go-to sources for information and analysis during such a critical time. Industry-leading eNewsletter open rates showcase how important our content is to our audiences. And our Restaurants Rise digital community has engaged thousands of leading executives across three premier digital events.

Community matters, and as we move into 2021, NRN and RH will be highlighting this notion in our content offerings.

Launching in January 2021, a new Nation's Restaurant News magazine will be the foodservice industry’s only B2B print publication dedicated to serving the information needs for the entire commercial restaurant industry, including large chains, emerging concepts and independents – and across all segments from full service to quick service.

NRN and its leading NRN.com will continue to lead the restaurant industry through one of its most trying periods in history with a refreshed monthly magazine and new digital offerings covering the most relevant topics for a changing restaurant landscape. There is no other voice like the voice of Nation’s Restaurant News.

We are also doubling down on Restaurant Hospitality’s coverage of independent operators to better serve the indie restaurateur’s needs.

During 2020, more than ever, we saw how independent restaurant operators faced unique challenges. We also recognized the way our readers consume their news and information has evolved — we saw double-digit growth in our online platforms as expediency proved essential.

So, in 2021, Restaurant Hospitality will move into an all-digital format to create a virtual community specifically for independent operators and emerging concepts at Restaurant-Hospitality.com.

This will be a gathering place: The content will be tailored specifically for indie restaurant operators, about indie operators, including the voices of indie operators.

Your voices.

We know the best advice comes from your peers, and RH has renewed our commitment to being a platform to learn, gain inspiration and make positive changes to your business by sharing the success stories of your fellow operators.

NRN.com will continue to offer the news, insights and solutions-based ideas our readers have flocked to in 2020, offering a full slate of content including videos, podcasts and contributed content from industry thought leaders.

Another new offering this year was the creation of the restaurant industry’s first digital community at the height of the pandemic, Restaurants Rise. Looking forward, Restaurants Rise will evolve with a continued commitment to connection and content with the introduction of CREATE, The Future of Foodservice – an integrated offering of digital, hybrid and in-person event activations. CREATE will lead foodservice into a new age of innovation, and include a live event Oct. 4-6, 2021, in Denver. We are excited for this initiative and will share exciting information and partnership opportunities in the coming weeks.

Nation’s Restaurant News and Restaurant Hospitality have built trusted, engaged and growing communities. Our goal is, and will always be, to help advance the industries we serve – professionally and personally. We look forward to continuing to share your stories and connecting with you in 2021.
