Valentine’s Day isn’t just about couples anymore.
It’s the second most popular day of the year to dine out, after Mother’s Day. It has also become a holiday many diners love to hate, not only for its focus on forced romance, but because so many restaurants fall into the trap of mediocrity with tired prix fixe menus.
The trick is doing something different. And appealing to a broader audience.
Happily, Valentine’s Day falls on a Tuesday this year, helping to boost sales on an otherwise slow night of the week, and inspiring many operators to begin promotions a few days early.
