Restaurant Hospitality has been named a finalist for the 2018 Jesse H. Neal Awards, which honor excellence in business media, for its March 2017 edition.
The brand is recognized in the best single issue category, which honors an issue of a magazine that best showcases a publication’s editorial mission. The Neal Awards, presented by the American Business Media association, are the premiere awards in business media.
“Restaurant Hospitality reimagined its editorial focus last year with an emphasis on helping independent restaurateurs run their business better. The new content and redesign really is top-notch,” said Jenna Telesca, editorial director of Restaurant Hospitality and editor-in-chief of sister brand Nation's Restaurant News. “I'm happy to see our best-in-business team honored with this prestigious nomination.”
The March 2017 issue focused on innovative sourcing practices, including an in-depth cover story on the small army of urban farmers growing produce in the heart of cities; a conversation with celebrated chef Dan Barber about his holistic view of farming; and looks at a new “real food” concept from entrepreneur Kimbal Musk.
It also includes actionable information for restaurant operators on using data to improve operations, launching delivery service, navigating employee rest break laws and incorporating trendy ingredients like jackfruit and beets.
“What a thrill to see the team recognized for the hard work that has gone into reshaping Restaurant Hospitality as a must-read publication specifically for the world of independent restaurant operators and emerging chains,” executive editor Lisa Jennings said.
Restaurant Hospitality is a sister brand of Nation’s Restaurant News, which is also a past Neal Award honoree.
