Chef Laurent Tourondel – restaurateur and owner of BLT Steak – is opening a new steakhouse in New York City called Skirt Steak. The restaurant will open to the public on Tuesday near Madison Square Garden.

“I am thrilled for the long-awaited debut of Skirt Steak, my take on the traditional steakhouse,” said Tourondel. “Whether it’s their first stop before they hit [Madison Square Garden] or a Broadway show or their destination for the night, I have no doubt customers will enjoy the simplicity and quality of both the concept and its offerings and leave wanting to come back for both the food and overall experience.”

The simple menu will feature only American Wagyu skirt steaks with sauce, market greens and unlimited French fries. A chef-selected seasonal vegetable is also available, as well as desserts served on a roaming cart.

There’s also a secret menu. Secret menus have become all the rage among consumers lately thanks to social media app TikTok.

This secret menu includes the option of a cauliflower steak at lunch or dinner and a hamburger at lunch only. Both are priced at $28.

In order to get the secret menu, consumers have to tell the server they “heard it from the chef.”

Tourondel’s other concepts include BLT Steak, BLT Fish, BLT Prime, BLT Burger, BLT Market, LT Burger in the Harbor, LT Burger in Bryant Park, LT Signature and Arlington Club. He is currently executive chef at Brasserie Ruhlmann in Rockefeller Center, and has been nominated for a James Beard Award.
