Post has served as an advisor to the virtual-dining company since last fall
Denny Marie Post has been named co-president of Nextbite alongside current president Paul Allen, the company announced Thursday. Post will oversee marketing, operations and culinary innovation and provide a strategic focus on Nextbite’s restaurant fulfillment partners.
Post, who served as CEO of casual-dining chain Red Robin for three years between 2016 and 2019, has been with the virtual-dining concept company since joining last September as an advisor.
“Working as an advisor for Nextbite gave me a front row seat to an amazing company with a tremendous opportunity to re-imagine the restaurant industry,” said Post in a statement. “I look forward to joining the team as co-president, helping to lead its next phase of growth.”
Post’s storied career includes time as interim CEO at the Women’s Foodservice Forum and in leadership positions at Starbucks, KFC and Burger King, where she served in a marketing capacity.
“We have sharpened our focus to make it easy for multi-unit restaurants to be successful with virtual brand offerings and Denny is the ideal executive to lead us in this next phase of growth,” said Alex Canter, CEO and co-founder of Nextbite, in a statement. “Her depth of restaurant leadership experience, innovation track record and vision for the future is already proving to be invaluable as we ramp up our business.”
Nextbite’s virtual brands include George Lopez Tacos, CraveBurger, ‘Wichcraft and more.
