EARLIER: Best Sandwiches in America 2013
January 2, 2014
We at Restaurant Hospitality magazine love, love, love sandwiches. Sandwiches may be the most perfect vehicles for delivering an outrageously delicious hand-held meal. They also offer a world of possibilities, variations and diversity. So selecting America’s Best Sandwiches is nearly impossible, but we did it last year and we’re going to do it again this year.
Here’s how it works: RH editors will select the Top 12 Best Sandwiches in America. It doesn’t matter what type of sandwich you enter as long as you think it’s outstanding. If your Cheesesteak, Lobster Roll or Banh Mi sandwich has won an award or your customers simply won’t let you take it off the menu, we want to take a look.
We can’t taste every sandwich entered. So we need your help. First, a high-resolution photo of the sandwich will help us narrow down contenders. After that, we’ll need you to provide the following information:
• Sandwich name
• Restaurant name
• Creator’s name
• Inspiration for the sandwich
• Price
• Food cost
• Key ingredients
• What makes the sandwich special
• Awards the sandwich has won
• What others are saying about the sandwich
Email the photo and sandwich details to editor-in-chief Michael Sanson at [email protected]. In the subject line of the email write "Sandwich Contest."
RH editors will evaluate the entries and narrow them down before they hit the road to (secretly) taste the contenders. The winners in each category will be showcased in the June issue. The bragging rights alone will likely push sales of your sandwich through the roof.
