March is Women’s History Month, and Michael’s on Naples in Long Beach, Calif., is celebrating with a gin-mezcal drink using only ingredients made from women-owned companies.
Quite a bit less significantly, March 20 is National Ravioli Day, which L’Amico, a Laurent Tourondel restaurant in New York City, is observing by putting a raviolo (that’s singular for ravioli) on the menu that’s normally only served for brunch.
It’s unclear whether Dario, a new restaurant in Minneapolis, is observing that particular food day, but it does have a special ravioli dish on the menu that has two different fillings.
On Bethesda, Md., at Aventino Cucina, Mike Friedman pays tribute to his favorite breakfast when he visits Rome — the fluffy cream-filled maritozzi — by offering a savory version with crème fraîche and caviar.
And at Orla, a Michael Mina restaurant that recently opened at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, executive chef Elliot Drew makes a dish that Mina developed based on the culinary traditions of his native Egypt.
